Senior Software Engineer New Markets - UK Remote (Fintech)

What you will do

• Design and implement highly scalable, mission-critical brokerage systems.
• Develop middle- and back-office systems, including gRPC microservices, React-based internal interfaces, and third-party integrations.
• Enhance core frameworks to support multiple languages, currencies, and markets.
• Collaborate with engineering leads and cross-functional teams across regions.
• Troubleshoot incidents and bugs, act as incident commander, and support operational reliability during regional business hours.
• Contribute to regional recruitment, mentoring, and engineering initiatives.

Requirements

• Remote work from the UK and ability to work independently in a globally distributed team.
• Strong proficiency in Go or a similar backend language.
• Experience designing robust system architectures and scalable applications.
• Strong computer science fundamentals, problem-solving, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
• Experience with event-driven design and incident leadership.
• Ability to collaborate with global teams, regulators, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex.
• Experience with domain-driven design, financial services, brokerage systems, or online trading platforms.
• Knowledge of double-entry accounting, transaction processing, trade lifecycle management, and settlement.
• Experience building high-availability, multi-currency financial applications and integrating market data or financial APIs.
• Experience working in startups or fast-growing technology companies.
