Software Engineer, Intern (Summer 2027) - TOR

Location: Toronto, ON; the 2027 internship is hosted in person at an office in New York, San Francisco, Sunnyvale, Los Angeles, or Seattle. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.; F-1 students using CPT are eligible, while J-1 visa holders are not supported.

Salary: CAD 94,500–118,000 annually

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and ship technical product components with support from mentors and team members.
• Contribute to technology supporting a 24x7 global logistics infrastructure and three-sided marketplace.
• Collaborate with engineers to solve real problems for merchants, delivery workers, and consumers.
• Learn through feedback, coaching, mentorship, and direct participation in team projects.
• Present internship learnings in a final presentation.

Requirements

• Pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or an equivalent field.
• Graduating between Fall 2027 and Summer 2028, with availability to start in May or June 2027.
• No more than two years of full-time work experience.
• Experience with databases, algorithms, data structures, version control, clean code, and unit testing.
• Proficient experience with at least one object-oriented programming language such as Python, Java, or Kotlin.
• U.S. work authorization is required; F-1 students must use CPT, and J-1 visas are not supported.

Nice to have

• Previous software engineering internship or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience using and responsibly evaluating AI-powered software development tools.
• Experience with scalable web applications, system monitoring, live deployments, continuous integration, real-time technologies, service-oriented architecture, APIs, or system design.
• Technical projects, research, hackathons, conferences, student organizations, teaching assistance, or other relevant extracurricular experience.
