Design Engineer (Parkwide Technical Infrastructure)

Location: 138 Cauldwell Street, Bedford, United Kingdom; full-time, onsite role with an in-person interview potentially required.

What you will do

• Lead the design, implementation, testing, and documentation of connected infrastructure for attractions, back-of-house facilities, and front-of-house facilities.
• Oversee vendors performing infrastructure work and inspect installations, acceptance testing, and certification activities.
• Prepare construction plans for refurbishments and new builds using UPT standards, Creative OPS requirements, and local building codes.
• Design and plan data centers, racks, cable management, copper and fiber-optic cabling, and other critical environments.
• Coordinate with engineering, technical services, AV, security, and networking groups to ensure security, growth, safety, redundancy, reliability, and sustainability.
• Maintain project inputs for scheduling and budgets while identifying vendor and procurement cost savings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Technical leadership experience in infrastructure or data center operations.
• Strong knowledge of telecommunications, structured cabling, cable management, fiber distribution, and industry standards.
• Experience managing medium- to large-scale facility design and build-outs, preferably in campus-style or corporate environments.
• Experience with electrical codes, grounding and earthing systems, equipment installation, utilization projections, BTU calculations, and heat-load projections.
• Working knowledge of compute and networking devices, MEP standards, project management, MS Office, Visio, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD.
