Senior (Lead) Data Platform Engineer (Databricks)

Location: Helsinki, Finland; flexible hybrid working model with remote-work tools. Relocation support is available for exceptional candidates.

Salary: €5,300–€6,500/month for Senior level; €6,200–€7,400/month for Lead level. Higher compensation may be discussed for particularly senior profiles.

What you will do

• Build and maintain the common Databricks infrastructure supporting the central data platform.
• Own reproducible environments and cloud resources, including permissions, deployments, infrastructure-as-code, security, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Design the platform’s data architecture and reliable pipelines for processing and moving large datasets.
• Establish monitoring, data quality checks, validation, automated testing, and production-grade engineering workflows.
• Help engineering teams onboard to the platform and design maintainable data architectures and processing flows.
• Gather requirements, communicate architectural trade-offs, troubleshoot integrations, and deliver platform capabilities to production.

Requirements

• Solid data engineering and ELT experience building maintainable, code-based data pipelines.
• Strong experience with cloud data technologies, preferably Databricks and Azure.
• Strong SQL and Python skills, including processing large datasets with distributed technologies such as Spark.
• Experience with Git, automated testing, clean code, reproducibility, and software engineering practices.
• Hands-on experience with agentic development and a strong understanding of monitoring, metrics, reliability, and long-term system health.
• Ability to own deliverables, gather technical requirements, explain trade-offs, and collaborate across engineering and product teams.

Nice to have

• Experience building large-scale data platforms or data architectures.
• Experience with procurement, ERP, accounting, or other complex enterprise data domains.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code, platform ownership, security, and cost optimization.
• Experience with dbt, version-controlled transformations, semantic modeling, YAML, or C#.
