TL;DR
Business Analyst (WebLGY): Translating business needs into actionable requirements for a Department of Veterans Affairs loan guaranty technology modernization and legacy system decommissioning initiative with an accent on current-state analysis, stakeholder interviews, user stories, business rules, and end-to-end data flows. Focus on documenting future-state capabilities, analyzing gaps and dependencies, evaluating solution options, and supporting product design and development.
Location: 100% remote within the United States; availability required during core business hours from 8am-5pm ET.

What you will do
- Analyze current-state capabilities, stakeholder needs, business processes, data requirements, business rules, and end-to-end data flows.
- Conduct stakeholder interviews and capability assessments to support modernization and legacy system retirement planning.
- Develop user stories, requirements, business capability documentation, future-state processes, gap analyses, and dependency documentation.
- Contribute to product design, specifications, feature development, and modernization solutions.
- Create client deliverables, review solution options with the team lead, and maintain positive client and delivery-team relationships.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience with an associate degree or high school diploma.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to shift priorities, lead through ambiguity, and consistently complete challenging work.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
Nice to have
- Experience supporting the WebLGY application or the Department of Veterans Affairs.
- Existing Public Trust clearance with the Department of Veterans Affairs or another federal agency.
- Mortgage industry knowledge and experience implementing Salesforce or AWS solutions for the federal government.
- Experience with JIRA, Confluence, technology modernization, or legacy system decommissioning assessments.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted tools for requirements analysis, documentation, and process mapping.
