Senior Developer - Customer Experience (Python/PHP/Vue)

Location: Melbourne or Sydney, Australia; hybrid work with 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home

What you will do

• Design, code, test, debug, and improve complex software as part of the Level 3 escalation engineering team.
• Investigate production issues, provide technical support, perform root-cause analysis, and resolve product defects.
• Build automation and diagnostic tools that reduce manual support work and improve resolution efficiency.
• Monitor applications in production and develop enhancements based on recurring customer pain points.
• Coach Customer Experience Specialists and act as a technical point of contact for complex cases.
• Contribute to code reviews, automated testing, release processes, technical direction, and a future on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Extensive Python development and unit testing experience with PyTest.
• Solid PHP experience and some JavaScript experience, preferably with Vue.
• Experience with SQL databases, Git, CI/CD tools, Docker, SQLAlchemy, cloud platforms, and preferably AWS.
• Experience with ticketing and diagnostic tools such as Zendesk and Jira, application monitoring, logs, and production SQL investigations.
• Advanced problem-solving, collaboration, customer focus, communication, and autonomous work skills, with a Computer Science or Engineering background or equivalent training.

Nice to have

• Strong knowledge of AI-assisted development practices.
• Experience with Vue and related JavaScript testing frameworks.
