TL;DR
Fullstack Engineer (React/Laravel): Building contractor-focused SaaS workflows for time tracking, payroll, cost coding, and compliance with an accent on customer-driven product development, data modeling, and simple software experiences. Focus on designing end-to-end features, prototyping with AI tools, and solving complex construction payroll rules such as overtime, prevailing wage, and certified payroll.
Location: Sydney office, hybrid with 2 days per week in the office

What you will do
- Research contractor workflows with Product Managers and identify problems across crews, foremen, and office teams.
- Own product delivery from discovery and technical design through development, release, measurement, and iteration.
- Build and ship features across the React frontend and Laravel backend hosted on AWS.
- Design workflows that detect missed punches, incorrect cost codes, and unapproved overtime before payroll runs.
- Review designs and code, improve engineering practices, and make tradeoffs between speed, accuracy, simplicity, and customer impact.
- Prototype ideas quickly with AI tools and validate them with contractors.
Requirements
- Approximately 3+ years of experience building and shipping production software.
- Strong full-stack engineering skills with a frontend focus and experience owning products end to end.
- Experience designing data models and architecture for real-world products and integrations.
- Ability to understand customer problems, conduct or use research, and build simple, high-quality user experiences.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate with customers, Product Managers, sales representatives, and engineers.
- Comfort working autonomously with loose direction, prototyping early, and making product and technical decisions.
