Lead Data Engineer (Logistics)

Location: Remote within Mexico, based in Monterrey or Querétaro

What you will do

• Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, providing technical guidance and support.
• Manage backlog grooming, sprint planning, and prioritization for data engineering projects.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines from TMS and other data sources.
• Design and extend data structures supporting evolving business requirements.
• Develop and maintain the Data Vault, data warehouse, and data marts used to deliver operational and business metrics.
• Improve data validation, monitoring, deployments, error handling, alerting, data democratization, and technical debt management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Business Administration, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 8+ years of technology experience with relational databases such as Amazon RDS/Aurora, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or Snowflake.
• Exceptional SQL development and performance-tuning skills.
• Strong Python experience, including Pandas, Streamlit, NumPy, JSON, CSV, and Requests.
• Strong communication, leadership, initiative, adaptability, and continuous-learning skills.
• Must be based in Mexico, in Monterrey or Querétaro; the role is remote Monday through Friday.

Nice to have

• Experience with TMS, WMS, or other enterprise logistics platforms and Data Vault 2.0.
• Experience with Fivetran, Azure Data Factory, REST APIs, Coalesce.io, YAML, or cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with Git, DevOps, and CI/CD.
