Tech Lead Data Engineer (Snowflake)

What you will do

• Set the technical direction and architecture standards for the cloud data analytics platform on Snowflake.
• Own logical and physical data modeling, warehouse design, dimensional models, data products, and curated data marts.
• Design and operate ingestion, API integrations, custom connectors, ELT/ETL processes, and pipeline orchestration.
• Extend Git, CI/CD, and Jira workflows with data testing, deployment validation, environment isolation, and secure credential management.
• Build governance, catalog, lineage, observability, freshness monitoring, completeness checks, and automated failure alerting.
• Optimize Snowflake performance and costs, guide architecture decisions, mentor Analytical Engineers, and advance AI-ready data structures and access patterns.

Requirements

• Senior hands-on experience as a Data Engineer, Data Architect, or Tech Lead in cloud data environments.
• Deep expertise administering, tuning, and modeling in Snowflake, with advanced dbt experience including macros, incremental models, custom tests, packages, and CI/CD testing.
• Expert analytical SQL skills and strong Python proficiency for pipelines, scripting, and MLOps workflows.
• Experience with orchestration and ingestion tools such as Matillion, Airflow, Prefect, Dagster, or Fivetran, plus the ability to evaluate performance and cost trade-offs.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, automated data testing, deployment validation, and secure credential rotation.
• Business-level English fluency and current authorization to work in Canada or Latin America without visa sponsorship are required.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Snowflake Cortex, AI Classify, RAG workflows, LLM agents, or MCP servers.
• Familiarity with Sigma or n8n.
