Lead Software Engineer (C#/.NET, Java, C++)

Location: Huntsville, Alabama, United States; office-based. U.S. person status or eligibility for an export license is required under ITAR/EAR. U.S. citizenship is required for some government contract work.

Salary: $111,500–$170,000 per year

What you will do

• Plan, design, develop, test, and enhance software systems, applications, cloud-based tools, and new products.
• Lead software design reviews and create design documentation within a formal software development lifecycle.
• Implement coding standards, write unit tests, debug code, and validate software.
• Support algorithm design and reuse software across multiple development programs.
• Improve development processes, deliver work against schedules and budgets, and coordinate activities of other personnel.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent experience.
• 8–12 years of relevant Windows or Linux application software development experience.
• Expertise in C#/.NET, Java, C++, and/or Web UI, with object-oriented design experience.
• Experience with unit testing, debugging, formal software lifecycle processes, Agile development, Git or SVN, IDEs, and debuggers.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Must qualify as a U.S. person under ITAR/EAR or be eligible for an export license; U.S. citizenship is required for some contracts.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree.
• Android, iOS, or React/Redux web development experience.
• FitNesse, UAS, drone, or robotics experience.
• Knowledge of data structures, databases, operating systems, and networking.
