Senior AI Engineer

Location: Manassas, Virginia; hybrid with 4 days onsite. The role may also be based in Virginia or New Jersey.

What you will do

• Develop and deploy AI-enabled features and robust services.
• Build retrieval-augmented pipelines and operate agentic workflows.
• Design and support scalable microservices and APIs that expose AI capabilities.
• Apply large language models and multi-agent architectures to production systems.
• Integrate cloud AI platforms, vector databases, search algorithms, and observability tools.
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders and support deployed solutions.

Requirements

• At least 2–3 years of recent agentic AI experience.
• At least 5 years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years focused on AI/LLM system development.
• Extensive Python experience and modern development practices including testing, linting, typing, and CI/CD.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, multi-agent architectures, and scalable microservices and APIs.
• Familiarity with Azure AI, GCP Vertex, AWS Bedrock, vector databases, search algorithms, Datadog, and LangSmith.
• Willingness to work hybrid with 4 days onsite in Virginia or New Jersey and travel approximately 5–10%.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of knowledge graphs, Neo4j, Cypher, NLP model training, or fine-tuning.
• Experience with Cursor, Claude Code, or GitHub Copilot.
• Understanding of AI guardrails, responsible AI, security, and access control.
• Familiarity with A2A and MCP multi-agent systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
