Principal Software Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Sofia, Bulgaria; hybrid work from the office and home

What you will do

• Define the technical strategy, system architecture, and long-term design evolution of Idira Credential Provider components.
• Solve complex technical challenges involving performance, scalability, system security, and enterprise deployment.
• Act as a senior technical bridge between the Bulgaria team, R&D, Product, Architecture, and engineering leadership in Israel.
• Harden the product and convert security assessments into scalable architectural solutions.
• Mentor engineers across sites and establish rigorous design, code-review, and engineering standards.
• Evaluate modern frameworks, technologies, and AI-assisted software development workflows.

Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• Deep expertise in C++ and proficiency in Java, C#, Go, or Python.
• Experience architecting and delivering complex, large-scale enterprise systems from inception through production.
• Expertise in low-level system design, multithreaded backend architecture, performance tuning, and cross-OS C++ development on Windows and Linux.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strategic leadership, technical rigor, ownership, and experience aligning distributed R&D teams.

Nice to have

• Expertise in cybersecurity, secrets management, IAM/PAM, or OS security internals.
• Experience establishing technical foundations for new satellite sites or distributed R&D teams.
• Experience championing AI coding tools at an organizational level.
• Familiarity with AWS, modern CI/CD security pipelines, and enterprise deployment models.
