Director, Production & Operations

Location: Universal City, California, United States. Hybrid schedule requiring office attendance a minimum of four days per week. Occasional domestic and international travel is required.

Salary: $115,000–$155,000 per year, plus bonus and long-term incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Oversee production and operational activities for assigned unscripted programming from development through final delivery.
• Review, negotiate, and approve budgets, schedules, production plans, cash flow schedules, cost reports, and project spending.
• Resolve day-to-day production issues and improve systems used by production companies to prepare, shoot, and deliver episodes.
• Coordinate producers, creative teams, production companies, and internal departments including Legal, Finance, Marketing, Digital, and Network Operations.
• Ensure domestic and international deliverables, compliance requirements, insurance decisions, production readiness, and greenlight-to-air projections are completed accurately and on time.
• Vet and manage third-party production companies while supporting Production Managers and Coordinators.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of production management experience at a broadcast network, cable network, or television production company.
• Hands-on experience with reality or studio-based productions and a strong understanding of television production workflows.
• Ability to create budgets, schedules, and full-scale production plans for pilots, presentations, series, specials, and live events.
• Strong project management, accounting, communication, interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to travel internationally and domestically and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work from the Universal City office at least four days per week under the current hybrid schedule.
