Commissioning - Systems Engineer I (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: Ann Arbor, Michigan, United States; transportation to off-site locations is required, with occasional travel to other sites.

Hiring range: $98,800–$118,600 USD annually, plus bonus and stock options.

What you will do

• Integrate self-driving software onto vehicles and test benches.
• Develop and execute closed-course and on-road test plans, analyze testing data, and evaluate full-system performance.
• Troubleshoot component and system integration issues, manage issues through resolution, and support other testing teams.
• Maintain integration and deployment schedules, track system KPIs, and document testing gaps and best practices.
• Derive product requirements, define functional designs and architectures, and maintain traceability to verification tests.
• Lead cross-functional design discussions across hardware, software, functional safety, validation, and operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 0–3+ years of relevant experience or equivalent technical proficiency.
• Valid United States driver’s license and safe driving record required.
• Ability to travel to off-site locations, occasionally travel internationally, and obtain a passport and required documents.
• Ability to work with PPE, occasional overtime, outdoor conditions, and teams across different time zones.
• Knowledge of requirements engineering, system architecture, testing, and functional safety standards including ISO 26262 and ISO 21448.
