Senior Software Engineer (.NET)

Location: Remote within all U.S. states

Tax software products help everyday Americans identify tax credits and deductions and complete complex tax returns through accessible digital filing solutions.

What you will do

• Design, implement, test, and maintain frontend and backend features across tax filing systems.
• Debug application issues and improve performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and constructive feedback cycles.
• Collaborate with product, design, and QA to scope and deliver reliable features on schedule.
• Use AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code when appropriate.
• Build expertise in the tax domain, system architecture, and codebase while proposing thoughtful improvements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience developing applications with .NET.
• Experience with Vue and/or Angular.
• Production experience building, debugging, and maintaining software systems.
• Familiarity with Microsoft development tools and workflows, including Visual Studio, SQL Server, and Azure DevOps.
• Ability to independently break down complex problems, evaluate solutions, and drive work through completion.

Nice to have

• Exposure to C++ and willingness to maintain existing C++ applications.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, or another cloud platform.
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum teams.
• Experience in regulated domains such as tax, fintech, or healthcare.
