TL;DR
Director, Finance Business Manager - MX (Financial Planning and Strategic Finance): Leading financial planning, performance analysis, operational finance, and strategic decision-making for the MX organization with an accent on complex financial modeling, profitability optimization, and financial controls. Focus on evaluating complex transactions, designing scalable processes, supporting executive reporting, and ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and ASC 606.
Location: New York, New York; hybrid work arrangement
Salary: $150,000–$170,000 base salary per year

What you will do
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning for MX.
- Analyze revenue, profitability, operational performance, risks, and opportunities, and present recommendations to executive leadership.
- Develop financial models, dashboards, KPIs, and reporting for client profitability, strategic investments, and new business opportunities.
- Oversee financial reporting, accounting treatment, reconciliations, billing, revenue recognition, and audit support.
- Advise on complex transactions, client and vendor reconciliations, contracts, profitability, and operational risk.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives covering automation, reporting improvements, scalable processes, governance, and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, operational finance, controllership, business finance, or related financial leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of financial and accounting principles, U.S. GAAP, and ASC 606 revenue recognition.
- Experience evaluating complex financial arrangements and developing solutions for non-standard transactions.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP, financial reporting, and planning systems.
- Strong analytical, communication, presentation, project management, and stakeholder-influence skills.
Nice to have
- CPA, MBA, or another advanced financial certification.
- Experience in media, advertising, principal trading, barter, or other complex transaction-based business models.
- Experience with NetSuite, Workday, Adaptive Planning, Power BI, or similar platforms.
