Director, Accounting

Location: New York, NY; hybrid model requiring 3 days a week in the office

Salary: $210,000 per year in New York

What you will do

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end corporate financial close activities for assigned business units under US GAAP.
• Manage, mentor, and scale the corporate accounting team while driving operational excellence.
• Maintain and strengthen the SOX-compliant internal control environment for corporate accounting and financial reporting.
• Oversee payroll accounting, including labor expenses, tax accruals, benefits, equity compensation, and payroll allocations.
• Manage accounting for SaaS subscriptions, vendor contracts, professional services, internal-use software capitalization, and vendor accruals.
• Own intercompany accounting, transfer pricing, cross-entity billing, eliminations, and multi-entity consolidations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA certification required.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 4+ years in leadership.
• Deep understanding of US GAAP, corporate consolidations, SOX, payroll mechanics, vendor accruals, and capitalized software guidelines.
• Strong competency with large data sets, query tools, and automation software.
• Hands-on experience with ERP, close management, procurement, forecasting, and reporting platforms such as NetSuite, FloQast, ZIP, and Anaplan.

Nice to have

• Experience in high-growth environments, corporate integration, or public accounting.
• Familiarity with automated data transfers between HRIS, procurement platforms, and ERP systems.
