Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Norwich, Connecticut, USA; office, lab, and manufacturing environment

Base salary: $94,200–$141,400 annually; 3% bonus target. Shift premium may be available depending on the assigned shift.

Nordson EFD designs and manufactures fluid dispensing systems and single-use fluid packaging for industrial applications.

What you will do

• Lead complex process engineering projects from concept through implementation, including capital equipment, automation, and process optimization.
• Serve as a technical expert for manufacturing processes, equipment, materials, and process controls.
• Analyze and resolve complex manufacturing issues using statistical analysis and advanced problem-solving methods.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives for operational excellence, new product introduction, cost reduction, quality improvement, and capacity expansion.
• Implement process controls, monitoring systems, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, root cause analysis, PFMEA, and process validation activities.
• Mentor engineers, technicians, operators, and other functional teams while managing multiple complex projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5–7 years of related manufacturing or process engineering experience.
• Experience leading process improvement, automation, capital equipment, or operational excellence projects.
• Knowledge of advanced statistical tools for reducing variation; Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification is beneficial.
• Experience with engineering drawings, manufacturing methods such as machining, molding, and sheet metal, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English for the position and workplace safety.

Nice to have

• Injection molding experience.
• Strong SolidWorks or other design software experience.
• Experience with programmable logic controllers, ladder logic, and machine control systems.
• Spanish bilingual ability.
