Senior Java Developer (API Gateway)

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain API Gateway components, includhirify.global configuration controllers, routhirify.global services, and domain circuit breakers.
• Develop NGINX-based configurations and custom modules for API gateway and front-end hosthirify.global use cases.
• Automate resource management, configuration deployment, and release train orchestration.
• Ensure reliability and availability through circuit breakers, canary deployments, DDoS mitigation, and multi-data-center resilience.
• Collaborate with platform engineers, SREs, security teams, and product teams to onboard domains and define gateway standards.
• Manage P1/P2 incidents, emergency production changes, postmortems, CI/CD validation, and safe production rollouts.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on software engineerhirify.global experience buildhirify.global and operathirify.global distributed systems or platform products.
• Strong Java proficiency; experience with Python, Bash, Go, or C is beneficial.
• Familiarity with containerisation, orchestration, Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of NGINX, reverse proxy patterns, or comparable API gateway technologies such as Envoy, HAProxy, or Kong.
• Understandhirify.global of HTTP/HTTPS, TLS/mTLS, DNS, load balanchirify.global, firewalls, and DMZ architectures.
• Strong debugghirify.global, incident response, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience operathirify.global API gateways at scale in an enterprise or financial services environment.
• Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, and SAML.
• Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, SRE practices, SLOs, error budgets, and on-call operations.
• Experience with high availability and disaster recovery across multiple data centers.
