Embedded Software Engineer (Railway Systems)

Location: Hybrid role based in Tres Cantos, Madrid, or Boecillo, Valladolid, Spain. Includes up to 8 weeks per year of teleworking outside the usual geographical area.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain embedded applications in C/C++ for railway systems running primarily on Linux.
• Integrate railway intelligent transport systems, including passenger information, public address, emergency intercom, video surveillance, operational support, and communications solutions.
• Develop communications components using network protocols, messaging, services, and monitoring mechanisms.
• Contribute to HMI applications, configuration tools, monitoring tools, and diagnostic tools.
• Optimize application performance, memory consumption, stability, concurrency, and fault tolerance.
• Perform unit, integration, and functional testing, provide technical documentation, and support commissioning, maintenance, and incident resolution.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a similar discipline.
• Experience or interest in developing embedded software for transport systems.
• Development experience with C/C++ and object-oriented programming.
• Knowledge of Linux operating systems, TCP/IP communications, and network services.
• Experience with software development, debugging, and integration in embedded environments.
• Knowledge of Git and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
