Manufacturing Lead (CNC)

Location: Consett, County Durham, United Kingdom. Onsite role with working hours Monday to Thursday, 8:00am–5:00pm, and Friday, 8:00am–1:00pm.

Salary: £47,550 per year plus benefits.

hirify.global is supporting the recruitment of a Manufacturing Lead for a leading manufacturing business operating a CNC machining environment.

What you will do

• Lead investigations into manufacturing and quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Improve OEE, machine utilisation, productivity, delivery performance, and production efficiency.
• Reduce scrap, rework, downtime, and process waste through targeted improvements.
• Support Kaizen, 5S/6S, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical support and coaching to operators and production teams.
• Develop manufacturing processes, tooling, setup standards, and best practices while supporting resource planning.

Requirements

• Strong CNC machining and manufacturing experience.
• Proven experience delivering process improvements in a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
• Experience using OEE, downtime, cycle time, and scrap metrics to drive improvement.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence Production, Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance teams.
