Staff Tutor (Education, Childhood, Youth & Sport)

Location: Home-based with remote/hybrid working and occasional travel, including to Milton Keynes and other locations within the UK.

Salary: £47,389–£56,535 per year.

What you will do

• Line-manage Associate Lecturers, including recruitment, induction, probation, workload management and professional development.
• Assure the quality of Associate Lecturer work and monitor module and student performance.
• Plan and coordinate tutorial provision while liaising with university and faculty services.
• Provide subject-specific advice to students, support teams and other university staff.
• Develop and maintain distance-teaching materials and contribute to tuition strategies across education, childhood, youth and sport programmes.
• Represent the School internally and externally, contribute to equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and undertake scholarship activities.

Requirements

• Higher degree and professional experience in a relevant programme area, with knowledge of at least one additional pathway.
• Understanding of adult, distance and independent learners and experience with online learning environments.
• Professional or academic experience managing and developing staff and planning staff or non-staff resources.
• Strong organisational, communication, judgement and stakeholder-management skills.
• Understanding of UK education systems and relevant policies and regulations.
• Ability to travel within the UK; some evening and weekend work and occasional time away from home may be required.
