Senior Software Engineer (Python, Pricing)

Location: Remote in Europe or the United Kingdom

What you will do

• Design and ship core components of the Pricing API from initial design through production.
• Consolidate pricing logic into a single service with clear ownership and stable behavior.
• Build error handling, observability, detection, and alerting for incorrect or slow prices.
• Help commercial teams understand why a contract cannot be priced.
• Improve pricing speed for customer quotes while preserving accuracy.
• Handle live pricing questions and incidents, turning findings into structural fixes.

Requirements

• Production experience with backend Python and responsibility for running APIs in production.
• Experience with FastAPI and SQL in data- and analytics-heavy syshirify.globals.
• Strong product engineering judgment and attention to numerical correctness.
• Daily experience using Claude or similar AI agents for writing, testing, and reviewing code.
• Ability to own projects end to end, including scoping, delivery, and quality.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, energy pricing, neo-utilities, or ad tech.
• Experience working with machine learning teams.
• AWS and serverless experience, including Lambda, event-driven services, or Postgres on RDS.
• Experience with Polars or optimizing numerical code.
