EHS Engineer

What you will do

• Support environmental, health, and safety programmes, procedures, inspections, audits, and workplace assessments.
• Assist with accident, incident, and near-miss investigations, corrective action tracking, and risk assessments.
• Maintain EHS records, databases, documentation, contractor records, and training records.
• Coordinate EHS training, awareness campaigns, and safety initiatives.
• Support environmental compliance, waste management, permitting, sustainability reporting, and resource efficiency initiatives.
• Monitor environmental performance metrics, including energy, water, waste, and emissions, and support ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 management systems.

Requirements

• NEBOSH Certificate at minimum level, or active progress toward certification.
• Strong working knowledge of UK EHS legislation.
• Practical knowledge and experience of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001 standards, including audits and compliance processes.
• Strong communication, organisational, problem-solving, and prioritisation skills.
• Proactive, self-motivated, resilient, adaptable, and able to work independently under pressure.

Nice to have

• Environmental qualification, relevant experience, or willingness to study toward a recognised environmental qualification.
• Experience with environmental compliance, sustainability programmes, waste management, or environmental management systems.
• Experience with hazardous chemicals, COSHH management, sustainability, or ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems.
• Previous experience in EHS, compliance, or manufacturing.
