Senior Technical Project Manager (Defense Technology)

Salary: $116,500–$155,000 USD starting pay range for California

What you will do

• Lead research and development projects from initial planning through delivery of first-article solutions.
• Serve as scrum master and product owner for interdisciplinary and cross-functional teams.
• Coordinate engineering, operations, marketing, sales, and other stakeholders around goals, timelines, and priorities.
• Create and manage agile and hybrid project plans, schedules, budgets, risk registers, and other project assets.
• Track technical feature delivery, milestones, dependencies, and risks while reporting progress to stakeholders.
• Remove obstacles and shape technology products to improve customer value and delivery efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field and at least five years of relevant project management experience.
• Experience in high-growth startups, aerospace, hardware and software deployment, and systems integration.
• Experience building, leading, and developing small engineering teams.
• Experience hosting and leading technical and non-technical reviews with cross-functional audiences.
• Must meet U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements: U.S. citizenship or nationality, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylee status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorization.
• Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and goal-setting skills in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with JIRA or other agile-enabling software platforms.
• Proficiency with MS Project or Smartsheet.
• Engineering or operations leadership program experience.
• Previous work on Department of Defense projects.
• Experience designing, developing, or validating PCBAs.
• PMP or CAPM certification.
