Engineering Manager (React Native)

What you will do

• Lead, coach, develop and hire a high-performing engineering team while supporting growth, accountability and psychological safety.
• Own team capacity, delivery outcomes, technical initiatives, technical debt and engineering excellence metrics.
• Partner with Product, UX, data teams and stakeholders to plan roadmaps, resolve blockers and make prioritisation trade-offs.
• Guide architecture and technical decisions with attention to resilience, performance, cost, security and operational reliability.
• Establish monitoring, alerting, service-level objectives, on-call practices and incident improvement processes.
• Manage infrastructure and licence costs, support budgeting and measure the business impact of releases.

Requirements

• Typically 8+ years of industry experience consistent with Engineering Manager scope.
• Experience leading and developing an engineering team within one domain.
• Experience working with mobile engineering teams and strong understanding of React Native architecture, development practices and cross-platform application challenges.
• Strong technical judgement across software architecture, operational reliability, security and owned systems.
• Experience with coaching, delegation, direct feedback, capacity planning and engineering delivery.
• Understanding of business metrics, financial trade-offs and fundamental data science concepts.
