Manager 3, Data Science - Data Foundations (AI)

Base pay: $234,000–$316,500 per year

What you will do

• Lead and grow a team of senior, staff, and principal data scientists, including hiring, performance management, calibration, and promotion advocacy.
• Own the Data Foundations strategy, roadmap, success criteria, financial case, and executive reporting.
• Build governed entities, standardized metric layers, semantic knowledge layers, and end-to-end customer journey data products.
• Drive data quality, compliance, security, field-level access control, data-access management, and PII minimization.
• Lead AI and GenAI implementations, including agentic tooling for pipeline development, data-quality detection, root-cause analysis, and insight generation.
• Partner with Data Engineering, Product Development, Finance, TPM, AI, and platform teams on architecture, ownership, and build-or-buy decisions.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• 14+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or data platforms, including 5+ years managing data scientists or analytics engineers.
• Experience delivering governed data foundations at enterprise scale, including metric standardization, domain or entity modeling, data quality, or data product ownership.
• Strong technical foundation in SQL and Python, plus experience with cloud data platforms, pipeline orchestration, and legacy estate migration.
• Experience building AI, GenAI, or agentic capabilities for data operations and owning a multi-million-dollar impact portfolio.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence Director- and VP-level stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with IRS 7216, GDPR, CCPA, and fine-grained access control.
• Background in semantic layers, knowledge graphs, or knowledge-layer design for AI and agent consumption.
• Experience with experimentation, causal inference, Customer Success, customer experience, contact center, or FinTech analytics.
• Experience establishing schema or event registries, data stewardship roles, and downstream change-notification processes.
