Strategic Column Packing Specialist (Biotechnology)

Location: Remote from South Korea, covering customers across Korea; ability to work legally in South Korea is required.

What you will do

• Execute chromatography column packing and unpacking from laboratory and pilot scale through process-scale GMP columns at customer sites.
• Qualify packed beds using HETP and asymmetry criteria, document results, and issue packing reports for manufacturing records.
• Support resin screening, process development, scale-up, and commercial manufacturing by establishing consistent packing parameters.
• Troubleshoot resin, column hardware, packed-bed, and scale-related performance issues with modality, application, product, R&D, quality, and service teams.
• Train and certify customer operators in packing, unpacking, CIP, and routine handling across laboratory and process scales.
• Serve as a technical escalation point for complex packing cases, including bed instability, channeling, repeat repacking, and resin damage.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in biotechnology, biochemical or chemical engineering, life sciences, biochemistry, or a related discipline.
• Multiple years of hands-on downstream bioprocessing experience, including laboratory, pilot-scale, and process-scale chromatography column packing.
• Practical knowledge of chromatography resin properties, slurry preparation, compression and packing factors, HETP, asymmetry, and transition analysis.
• Customer-facing technical support, hands-on service delivery, or field service experience in bioprocessing or a GMP-regulated environment.
• Working knowledge of ÄKTA pure, pilot, and process systems and UNICORN control software.
• Fluent written and spoken English and Korean are required. A valid Korean work permit or visa is required for foreign nationals.
