Staff Software Engineer - Frontend (React)

Location: Sunnyvale, California, United States; onsite at the Crossman Respect Building home office.

Annual salary: $143,000–$286,000, plus performance bonuses and possible stock compensation.

What you will do

• Lead the architecture and development of modern responsive web applications using React, TypeScript, and modern frontend technologies.
• Design accessible, intuitive user experiences for complex Marketplace seller payment and financial workflows.
• Build scalable backend services and event-driven platforms using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and Cassandra.
• Develop platform capabilities for Marketplace Capital, including lending, cashback eligibility, and financial decisioning.
• Design Agentic AI-powered workflows and reusable frontend components, libraries, and platform patterns.
• Guide engineers across frontend, backend, and full-stack development while driving reliability, observability, scalability, and disaster recovery readiness.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of software engineering experience, including full-stack application development and technical architecture for large-scale platforms.
• Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, frontend architecture, state management, performance optimization, accessibility, and responsive design.
• Strong backend experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Kafka, Cassandra, and distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud-native applications across Azure, GCP, or private cloud environments.
• Experience with AI-powered applications, LLM-based workflows, or Agentic AI solutions.

Nice to have

• Experience with payments, financial services, lending, fintech, marketplace, or international payment platforms.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility practices.
• Master's degree in a relevant computer science or software engineering field.
