Lead Security/COMSEC Engineer

Location: Norfolk, Virginia, USA; on-site position with CONUS/OCONUS travel required

Salary: $83,000–$103,000 per year, paid weekly

What you will do

• Manage day-to-day Navy COMSEC account operations and support compliance visits and inspections.
• Conduct on-site COMSEC audits covering administration, material handling, security procedures, inventories, and destruction.
• Manage COMSEC equipment lifecycle activities, maintenance, upgrades, troubleshooting, and continuity of operations.
• Support COMSEC Shore Local Element management and the security of COMSEC material.
• Develop training curricula and deliver classroom and on-the-job training.
• Provide cybersecurity and COMSEC incident response support and ensure proper reporting.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship, an active Top Secret clearance, and a T5 background investigation are required.
• Must meet CSWF 723 COMSEC Manager Intermediate/Journeyman requirements through an eligible bachelor's degree, qualifying DoD/Military Training 531-25B40-C46, or active GIAC Security Essentials certification.
• 6–8 years of experience in COMSEC management and operations.
• Experience developing training materials, delivering classroom and on-the-job training, and contributing to security documentation.
• Experience with CMS-1, CMS-3, COMSCINST 2280 series, and Navy COMSEC programs.
• CONUS/OCONUS travel is required.
