Senior Back-end Engineer (Node.js/Vue.js)

Location: Makati City, Manila, Philippines; hybrid with 4 days on-site and 1 day working from home per week

What you will do

• Guide the technical direction of core applications through hands-on backend and frontend engineering.
• Define and enforce modular, secure, scalable, and maintainable software architecture.
• Lead and mentor development teams while establishing coding standards and engineering best practices.
• Own critical technical decisions and align implementation with product and delivery priorities.
• Ensure code quality through reviews, testing practices, CI/CD pipelines, automation, and reliability improvements.
• Collaborate with Delivery Managers, Product Owners, QA, and DevOps teams.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with Node.js, including modern versions such as v22+ and v24.
• Experience with PostgreSQL v15 or equivalent and Vue 3.
• Proven experience leading and mentoring software development teams.
• Strong understanding of modularity, scalability, clean design, and software architecture principles.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and business stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Caching technologies such as Redis or Memcached.
• Search and indexing solutions such as Algolia, Elasticsearch, or Solr.
• Real-time communication frameworks, testing frameworks, containerization, infrastructure tools, or cloud platforms.
• Experience optimizing performance and scaling distributed systems.
