Senior Business Intelligence Engineer

Location: Hybrid, Canada

Salary: 125,800–170,100 CAD annually, with a midpoint of 147,900 CAD.

What you will do

• Design scalable data models and governed semantic layers for standardized reporting and analysis.
• Translate complex SQL queries into reusable semantic models while optimizing pipelines and query performance.
• Partner with Analytics to model key business metrics for semantic-layer consumption.
• Create and maintain enterprise reports, dashboards, and other business decision tools.
• Develop reliable data transformation and loading pipelines using DBT.
• Manage the BI platform, including user access, governance, performance, and security.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with data architecture, dimensional modeling, and semantic layers for self-service analytics.
• Expert-level SQL programming skills.
• Experience building and maintaining data pipelines with DBT.
• Understanding of data governance, metric standardization, data quality, and access control.
• Advanced dashboard design skills with Tableau or an equivalent data visualization tool.
• Knowledge of complex relational data structures and modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, plus strong stakeholder communication and problem-solving skills.
