Senior Staff Data Scientist (Fintech)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States; onsite

Base pay: $210,500–$284,500 per year, with potential cash bonus, equity rewards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Conceptualize business problems, formulate hypotheses, define key metrics, and make actionable recommendations.
• Develop strategic insights for QuickBooks Money and money-movement products serving small and mid-market businesses.
• Build predictive models, design experiments beyond traditional A/B testing, and generate customer insights.
• Create durable customer segmentation patterns to improve targeting, positioning, and customer experience.
• Partner with Product Management, Marketing, Engineering, Design, Finance, and Business Operations leaders.
• Translate complex data findings into recommendations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in data science or product analytics, preferably in fintech.
• BS or MS in Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Econometrics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong experience with predictive modeling, customer segmentation, experimentation, and quantitative analysis of large datasets.
• Advanced SQL skills and proficiency with Python and statistical or machine learning libraries.
• Experience with visualization tools such as Qlik, Tableau, or Plotly Dash.
• Familiarity with Linux or OS X command line, Git, and general software development practices.

Nice to have

• Experience solving growth problems for financial technology companies serving consumers or small and medium-sized businesses.
• Familiarity with Generative AI and other evolving technologies for extracting insights from multimodal data.
