Lead Actuary

Location: Hybrid role based in the New York office or Washington, DC

Salary: $125,000–$145,000 per year

What you will do

• Identify, evaluate, and recommend statistical methods for actuarial and analytical work.
• Stress-test internal models, validate their outputs, and investigate bugs and corner cases.
• Interpret and validate key findings with colleagues and communicate results to internal and external stakeholders.
• Continuously adapt models to changing conditions and support internal research and development.
• Find and assess public data sources for underwriting and actuarial tools, including data quality testing and analysis.
• Create documentation for modules used in internal tools and provide analytical support to colleagues.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of relevant work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in statistics, actuarial science, data science, economics, mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Hands-on experience with VBA, SQL, R, Python, Tableau, or other statistical software.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and independent working skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
