Machinist Trainee (CNC)

Location: East Peoria, Illinois, United States; onsite. Training takes place on 1st shift for 4–6 weeks, followed by 2nd or 3rd shift. Relocation is not offered.

Salary: $23.22 per hour, plus a $1.00 per hour night-shift premium.

What you will do

• Complete a paid machining trainee program and transition to 2nd- or 3rd-shift work after training.
• Set up and operate a variety of CNC machines to produce high-precision parts.
• Read blueprints and technical drawings to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Measure parts with instruments such as micrometers and calipers to verify conformance.
• Apply geometry, trigonometry, and other intermediate mathematical skills.
• Determine feeds and speeds and select appropriate tooling.

Requirements

• Previous troubleshooting or equipment repair experience with agricultural, automotive, industrial, or military equipment.
• Good communication skills and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
• Ability to work overtime when required, including weekends.
• Ability to work any shift after training.
• High mechanical aptitude, a positive attitude, and willingness to learn.

Nice to have

• Previous CNC training or experience.
