Senior Network Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Hybrid; at least 3 days per week in an hirify.global office in Mountain View, San Francisco, or Pittsburgh, United States. Occasional travel to hirify.global facilities and partner sites is required.

Salary: $127,000–$204,000 per year for Mountain View or San Francisco; $115,000–$184,000 per year for Pittsburgh. Annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits are also available.

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and operate network infrastructure across corporate offices, manufacturing sites, and truck terminal facilities.
• Lead network security implementations covering 802.1X, NAC, network segmentation, and firewall policy design.
• Architect and scale LAN, WLAN, VPN, routing, switching, VLAN, and segmentation environments.
• Own monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, incident response, root cause analysis, and complex connectivity resolution.
• Build network automation and Infrastructure as Code using Python, CI/CD pipelines, source-of-truth tooling, and version control.
• Partner with IT, Security, vendors, and engineering teams while mentoring engineers and supporting on-call operations.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience designing, deploying, and operating enterprise or campus networks in production.
• Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, subnetting, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, spanning tree, and QoS.
• Hands-on experience with Juniper, Cisco, Arista, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or comparable enterprise platforms.
• Experience with enterprise wireless design, 802.1X, RADIUS, and network access control.
• Strong Python automation skills and experience with Infrastructure as Code and version control.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; the role requires hybrid office attendance and occasional travel.

Nice to have

• CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, JNCIE, JNCIA-DevOps, PCNSE, or comparable certification.
• Experience with LibreNMS, Nautobot, TIG stack, or similar monitoring and source-of-truth tooling.
• Production AWS or GCP networking, VPC design, Direct Connect, or Cloud Interconnect experience.
• Experience with manufacturing, industrial, logistics, OT, IIoT segmentation, or high-bandwidth data transfer environments.
• Experience with GitHub Actions, Terraform, Spacelift, or similar network CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code tools.
