Client Office Phlebotomist-Part-time Days SD

Location: Client site in the Magnificent Mile neighborhood, Chicago, Illinois, United States. Part-time schedule of 20 hours per week, Sunday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Salary: USD 19.81–26.74 per hour

What you will do

• Perform venipuncture and other laboratory specimen collections according to age-related standards, policies, and protocols.
• Receive physician orders, enter laboratory test orders accurately, verify result receipt, and retrieve patient information across multiple systems.
• Process, label, centrifuge, aliquot, freeze, package, and transport specimens while preserving sample stability and integrity.
• Provide patient communication and post-phlebotomy care while applying patient-safety practices.
• Monitor refrigerator temperatures and quality-control records, maintain equipment and supplies, and report corrective actions or maintenance concerns.
• Handle laboratory reception, clerical duties, biohazard waste procedures, inventory, documentation, and communication of collection or specimen issues.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Nationally recognized phlebotomy certification, training from a phlebotomy school or medical institution, at least one year of healthcare phlebotomy experience, or CMA certification.
• Ability to work onsite Sunday through Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Chicago client site.
• Ability to follow patient-safety, biohazard, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
• Strong customer service, communication, teamwork, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills.

Nice to have

• Experience performing phlebotomy with a broad range of patient types.
• Experience processing and transferring specimens and operating a centrifuge.
• Familiarity with medical EMR systems and medical terminology.
