Engineering Lead – Taste Elevation

Location: Chicago/Aon Center, Fremont Factory, and Muscatine Factory, United States. Field-based role requiring frequent travel to customer locations, stores, and manufacturing facilities, including travel outside the home state for up to 50%. Remote work with limited supervision is required, alongside flexible shifts, nights, and overtime as needed.

Base salary: $141,500–$176,900 annually, plus eligibility for a performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Lead multi-year and annual maintenance and growth capital planning for assigned sites and manufacturing groups.
• Manage capital projects from conceptual design through commissioning and vertical startup, including scope, schedule, budget, safety, compliance, and operational capability.
• Lead cross-functional teams, engineering partners, contractors, vendors, and subcontractors through project delivery.
• Establish project structures, resources, risk management strategies, financial controls, change control, and progress reporting.
• Support capital appropriation requests, management-system audits, post-implementation reviews, and continuous improvement of capital project standards.
• Coach engineering and capital project managers while developing training, onboarding, best practices, and performance metrics.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or a related field from an accredited engineering school.
• Experience in engineering, project management, or technical leadership across multiple sites, preferably in plant operations, maintenance, or plant engineering.
• Experience with strategic and annual capital planning and with leading cross-functional capital projects or programs valued at $20 million or more.
• Strong knowledge of food-industry process and packaging equipment, plant facilities, utilities, mechanical and electrical systems, refrigeration, controls, and water and wastewater systems.
• Proficiency in project management, construction delivery, contract management, financial controls, construction drawings, specifications, and risk management.
• Must be able to travel frequently, including outside the home state for extended periods of up to 50%, inspect sites, work at heights when needed, and operate in noisy environments.

Nice to have

• PMP certification.
• Experience with plant facility engineering, maintenance, building construction, and technical services.
