Lead Product Development Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: City of Industry, California, United States; onsite

Base salary: $130,000–$214,500 USD annually, plus an eligible annual bonus or role-based sales incentive plan.

What you will do

• Own the design and development of Emtek handle and entryway products from concept through production.
• Lead engineering teams and steer the technical development of assigned products.
• Develop product requirements, subsystem specifications, risk mitigation plans, and robust manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Lead design reviews, DFM/DFA activities, and resolution of critical early product design decisions.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Designers, Purchasing, suppliers, and internal and external engineering customers.
• Develop intellectual property claims, communicate technical information to non-technical audiences, and mentor team members in engineering problem solving.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• 8+ years of product development engineering experience with significant manufacturing exposure.
• High proficiency with 3-D CAD; SolidWorks is preferred.
• Familiarity with advanced failure analysis, mechanical system modeling, FEA, CFD, FMEA, DOE, QFD, DFMA, engineering principles, statistics, GD&T, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Ability to work effectively with suppliers from different countries and cultures, including international suppliers.
• Ability and willingness to travel approximately 15% domestically and potentially internationally.

Nice to have

• Experience working with international suppliers.
• Proficiency in Spanish and/or Mandarin.
