Engineering Manager - Value Engineering

Location: Anderson, SC, United States; up to 10% international and domestic travel

What you will do

• Lead, develop, and mentor engineers responsible for value engineering, cost reduction, product optimization, and continuous improvement.
• Own the value engineering project portfolio, savings roadmap, forecasts, and annual financial objectives.
• Identify and execute opportunities through product teardowns, benchmarking, design analysis, supplier collaboration, and manufacturing process improvements.
• Partner with Product Management, Global Engineering, Sourcing, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, and Operations to implement validated solutions.
• Lead tradeoff discussions covering cost, performance, quality, schedule, and manufacturing feasibility.
• Report project status, savings, forecasts, risks, and resource needs to leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 8 years of relevant engineering, product development, or technical project leadership experience; 10 years preferred.
• At least 2 years leading projects, technical teams, or engineering personnel.
• Experience with cost reduction, continuous improvement, or product development initiatives.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, product cost drivers, materials, supplier development, and engineering change management.
• Strong business, financial, communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with product teardowns, benchmarking, cost modeling, and design for cost.
• Experience supporting global manufacturing operations and supplier networks.
• Experience delivering measurable cost reduction and margin improvement.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and balancing resources against business objectives.
