Sr. CFD Engineer (CFD)

What you will do

• Serve as a subject matter expert in CFD, turbulent flow modeling, acoustics, and heat transfer.
• Design axial fan and stator systems for flow rate, blow force, pressure ratio, efficiency, stall margin, and noise reduction.
• Develop and validate analytical and reduced-order models for leaf blowers, lawn mowers, string trimmers, BLDC motors, and other rotary products.
• Perform steady-state and transient CFD analyses, experimental testing, and model validation across operating conditions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to optimize performance, size, cost, noise, and manufacturability.
• Document analysis results, present design recommendations, and mentor junior engineers in analytical tools and decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering; a master’s degree or Ph.D. is preferred.
• 5+ years of hands-on engineering design and analysis experience with turbomachinery in an OEM, supplier, or consumer products company.
• Expertise with commercial CFD software, preferably ANSYS Fluent or CFX.
• Experience designing rotor/stator systems for turbomachinery, with a strong background in aerodynamics and fluid mechanics.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, flexibility, self-motivation, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability and willingness to mentor junior engineers.

Nice to have

• Experience with FSI, multiphysics analysis, DEM, BEM, or FEA using commercial software.
• Experience with OptiSLang, adjoint shape optimization, or other design optimization tools.
• Knowledge of NVH analysis and NVH testing for reducing noise and vibration.
• Consumer product development experience.
• Experience with ANSYS Mechanical, BladeGen, Siemens NX, SolidWorks, BK Connect, MATLAB, Python, LabView, or VB Excel.
