TL;DR

Focus on translating Air Force concepts and mission requirements into executable architectures, leading strategic captures, and aligning multidisciplinary teams across Viasat’s business areas.

Location: Carlsbad, California, United States

Salary: $180,500–$285,000 annually; $224,500–$336,500 annually for specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area.

What you will do

  • Lead the Air Force Solutions Engineering organization across hirify.global’s five business areas.
  • Develop integrated mission architectures covering communications, networking, cyber, ISR, space, platform integration, mission computing, and digital engineering.
  • Translate Air Force operational concepts, CONOPS, kill chains, and mission requirements into executable technical architectures.
  • Engage with Air Force commands, acquisition organizations, laboratories, program offices, mission partners, and senior government stakeholders.
  • Support strategic captures, proposals, RFIs, RFP responses, architecture reviews, demonstrations, and mission experimentation.
  • Lead and mentor Air Force Solutions Architects and technical leaders while establishing architecture governance and engineering best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of experience in defense, aerospace, mission systems, communications, networking, or related technical domains.
  • Extensive experience supporting United States Air Force operational or acquisition organizations.
  • Experience leading complex technical integration across multiple organizations or business units.
  • Deep understanding of Air Force mission architectures, operational concepts, modernization priorities, systems engineering, and mission architecture development.
  • US citizenship and an active United States Top Secret clearance with Special Access Programs clearance are required; Top Secret/SCI experience is preferred.

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Operational military experience or direct support to Air Force missions.
  • Experience with MOSA/SOSA, tactical communications, airborne mission systems, SATCOM, resilient networking, ISR, space operations, digital engineering, and MBSE.
  • Experience with large-scale strategic captures and geographically distributed technical teams.
