Junior Software Developer (Angular/Node.js)

Location: Remote within the United States, with occasional travel to the U.S. Coast Guard in Kearneysville, West Virginia. Core working hours are 8:00 AM–4:30 PM Eastern Time, Monday through Friday.

What you will do

• Develop, test, and maintain Angular frontend components and Node.js services for C5I-Home and VDS eStorefront.
• Implement user stories, enhancements, defect fixes, and maintenance work within Agile sprints.
• Support PostgreSQL integrations and interfaces with Login.gov, Pay.gov, and RESTful services.
• Write secure, maintainable, documented code and remediate vulnerabilities identified by CI/CD and security scanning.
• Maintain unit tests, participate in code reviews, troubleshoot application issues, and support QA and production incidents.
• Promote builds through development, test, staging, and production environments while supporting releases, demonstrations, and user acceptance testing.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of professional experience developing web applications.
• Experience with a modern frontend framework such as Angular, React, or Vue, plus TypeScript or JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS.
• Working knowledge of Node.js, RESTful APIs, relational databases, SQL, Git-based workflows, and unit testing.
• Familiarity with secure software development, Agile or Scrum practices, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a favorable DHS/U.S. Coast Guard Moderate Risk Public Trust suitability determination.
• Must support Eastern Time core hours and occasional after-hours production releases or incident support.

Nice to have

• Hands-on Angular and TypeScript experience, including component architecture, reactive forms, and RxJS.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, C#/.NET, Microsoft SQL Server, federal identity or payment services, and federal customers.
• Experience with Jira, GitLab, Jenkins, Docker, OpenShift, or comparable CI/CD and containerization tools.
• Security+, AWS Certified Developer, or comparable technical certification.
• Existing DHS or U.S. Coast Guard suitability determination or active federal background investigation.
