Cloud Architect (SaaS)

Location: Delft, Netherlands; hybrid work from the local office 2 days a week and home-based the remainder of the week

What you will do

• Refine, communicate, and help implement the cloud architecture roadmap and strategy across the product portfolio.
• Partner with Product and Engineering teams to align implementations with architectural direction and drive technical convergence.
• Recommend architectural patterns and technology selections supporting the Global Architecture Team’s strategic vision.
• Evaluate team architectures and APIs, including trade-offs across architectural patterns and styles.
• Assess paved-path technologies, identify gaps, and trial emerging options with cloud providers and technology vendors.
• Define and promote non-functional requirements and communicate architectural decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software development experience building SaaS software in cloud and Infrastructure as Code environments.
• 2+ years of experience as an architect, or equivalent experience, for a large-scale SaaS provider or cloud hyperscaler.
• Problem-solving and lateral-thinking capability at platform or system architecture level.
• Experience improving scalability, availability, and performance in cloud environments.
• Experience developing, documenting, and communicating architectural strategy for a significant global cloud-based SaaS solution.
• Strong communication skills and experience collaborating remotely across teams, countries, time zones, and organisational boundaries.
