Area Operations Manager (Industrial Gas Operations)

Location: Atlanta, Georgia, with territory coverage in Bessemer, Alabama, and Hattiesburg, Mississippi; regular facility visits and 60% travel required.

What you will do

• Guide Plant Managers and production facilities in achieving area and regional performance goals.
• Analyze KPIs, labor plans, overtime, fulfillment, inventory, and cost data to improve operational strategies.
• Lead initiatives covering plant efficiency, continuous improvement, 5S programs, audits, standard operating practices, and customer fulfillment.
• Promote safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance, including participation in incident reviews and safety improvement plans.
• Coordinate cylinder supply, equipment bidding, vendor compliance, capital expenditure planning, and project management.
• Communicate performance, challenges, and improvement opportunities to the VP of Operations and regional leaders while developing plant teams.

Requirements

• At least five years of management experience with strong leadership, critical thinking, project management, and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of industry, business, and accounting concepts, including ROI, P&L statements, balance sheets, and margin responsibility.
• Ability to analyze supply chain, inventory, fulfillment, and distribution impacts and present findings to all management levels.
• Valid U.S. employment authorization is required; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.
• Availability to travel 60% of the time, including occasional overnight stays and regular facility visits.
• Agility and resilience in a fast-paced and changing operational environment.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Packaged gas industry or capital project management experience.
• SAP, Power BI, forklift, DOT qualification, accident reporting, safety, or compliance experience.
