TL;DR
Technical Program Manager - Hardware & Manufacturing (Autonomous Vehicles): Building and operating a centralized intake and prioritization process for hardware and QC issues across vehicle production lines, upfit partners, and mining kit installations with an accent on manufacturing triage, inventory escalation, and engineering coordination. Focus on identifying line-stopping defects, consolidating recurring hardware failures into engineering fixes, and tracing wiring, mounting, and electromechanical issues to root cause.

Location: San Francisco, California; onsite five days a week

Salary: $122,000–$151,000 per year, plus potential equity awards

Company

hirify.global develops and deploys production-ready autonomous vehicle technology and Autonomous Haulage Systems for mines, quarries, and construction sites.

What you will do

  • Own a centralized intake queue for hardware and quality-control issues from build lines and field sites.
  • Triage issues by severity and impact, distinguish line-stopping defects from cosmetic issues, and establish response-time expectations for build partners and plant contacts.
  • Prioritize the engineering development queue based on build and site impact, consolidating duplicate reports into unified engineering fixes.
  • Escalate onsite QC failures and inventory shortages between field or build operations, engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing.
  • Trace recurring defects involving part revisions, brackets, jigs, and wiring harnesses to root causes and assign them to the appropriate engineering, supplier, or production owner.
  • Coordinate hardware issue escalation across on-road transport upfit lines and off-road mining kit installations.

Requirements

  • Hands-on background in hardware, manufacturing, or field operations, with experience working directly on the production floor.
  • Experience acting as a triage point between build sites or partners and engineering, making prioritization decisions with incomplete information.
  • Experience creating an intake or QC process from scratch.
  • Experience with vehicle or heavy-equipment hardware, including wiring harnesses, sensor or compute mounting, and electromechanical assemblies.
  • Ability to work onsite in the San Francisco office five days per week.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Class 8 truck upfit, kitting, or OEM production-line environments.
  • Experience with off-road or heavy industrial equipment, including mining or construction hardware builds.
  • Familiarity with supplier and inventory escalation and part-revision control.
  • Experience using Linear or a similar ticketing tool.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work on production-deployed autonomous vehicle technology in demanding real-world environments.
  • Collaborate closely with experienced engineers and industry operators.
  • Medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance.
  • Flexible Spending Account and Health Savings Account options, 401(k), equity, sick time, unlimited flexible time off, and paid holidays.
  • Paid parental leave, pre-tax commuter benefits, and team lunches at the SoMa office on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
