Director of Engineering (Growth)

What you will do

• Lead multiple Growth Engineering teams and Engineering Managers across acquisition, activation, engagement, retention, and reactivation initiatives.
• Partner with Product, Design, Data Science, Analytics, and Marketing to define growth strategy, roadmaps, and priorities.
• Build an experimentation culture that supports rapid testing, learning, iteration, and scaling of successful ideas.
• Define technical strategy and architecture for long-term marketplace growth, scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Maintain engineering excellence across automated testing, CI/CD, observability, operational ownership, and frequent production deployments.
• Develop engineering leaders, manage organizational planning and staffing, and build a high-performing culture of ownership and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 15+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience with high-scale consumer products or distributed systems.
• 7+ years of engineering leadership experience, including leadership of Engineering Managers and multiple engineering teams.
• Strong technical depth in architecture, system design, technical strategy, scalable systems, reliability, and modern engineering practices.
• Experience delivering complex, high-impact product and technology initiatives and making product decisions through experimentation and data.
• Experience developing engineering leaders and collaborating with Product, Design, Data Science, Analytics, Marketing, and executive stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment with ambiguity and changing priorities.

Nice to have

• Growth Engineering experience in marketplaces, e-commerce, social platforms, or other high-scale consumer products.
• Experience leading globally distributed teams.
• Experience with Customer Data Platforms and MarTech ecosystems, including segmentation, lifecycle marketing, personalization, attribution, analytics, and cross-channel activation.
• Experience scaling experimentation, personalization, and AI/ML-driven growth capabilities.
• Experience driving engineering and organizational transformation, including platform and process modernization.
