Senior Software Engineer, Text Analytics (Java, NLP)

Location: Palermo, Buenos Aires, Argentina; hybrid with 3 days per week onsite

What you will do

• Design and implement the technical roadmap and product capabilities for the Text Analytics platform.
• Build, ship, and operate scalable and robust pipelines and services for large volumes of unstructured data.
• Partner with engineering teams to maintain uninterrupted service and address gaps in tools, processes, and knowledge.
• Apply development practices and build tooling that supports quality, security, performance, and maintainability.
• Collaborate in small agile teams through standups, demos, code reviews, and research spikes.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical talks, presentations, and meetups.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of backend software development experience with Java and high-speed, performant processing pipelines.
• Experience integrating AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude, including auditing generated code for security, performance, and architecture standards.
• Demonstrated proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Experience with production software development using Java or another mainstream object-oriented language.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of distributed data processing systems using Kafka and/or Kubernetes.
• Experience with NLP processing.
• Experience with API frameworks and lifecycle infrastructure such as Swagger or RAML.
• Relational database experience, including PostgreSQL.
