Principal Data Architect (AI)

Location: Mexico; fully remote work. The role may require up to 25% travel depending on business needs. Candidates must have current legal authorization to work in Mexico; visa or work permit sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Define strategic roadmaps and targeted outcomes for customers in a consultative capacity.
• Lead the design and implementation of complex cloud-based data solutions.
• Act as a data engineering subject matter expert for upcoming customer engagements and pre-sales activities.
• Conduct technical interviews for Architect and Engineer candidates.
• Provide technical guidance to Architects and Engineers.
• Oversee the development and implementation of data standards and operating procedures.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in the AWS data landscape.
• 10 years of experience designing and building complex data systems.
• Experience with at least two traditional data areas, including relational database design, data modeling, BI dashboards, data governance, or MDM.
• Experience with at least two new data areas, including Spark and streaming, NoSQL, machine learning and MLOps with SageMaker, generative AI and Bedrock, or DataOps.
• Experience with at least two of the following: Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines and tools, or Python for analytics and automation.
• Current legal authorization to work in Mexico is required; visa and work permit sponsorship is unavailable. Strong written and verbal communication skills are also required.
