What you will do
- Lead enterprise data architecture across a large-scale federal application transformation and modernization program.
- Design and govern data lakes, lakehouse architectures, warehouses, marts, distributed processing platforms, and real-time streaming systems.
- Define enterprise data models, schemas, metadata, catalogs, lineage, retention strategies, lifecycle management, and governance standards.
- Design ingestion, ETL/ELT, transformation, analytics, dissemination, API, and system-interconnection capabilities.
- Support AI/ML architectures, ML pipelines, MLOps, model deployment, and AI governance frameworks including NIST AI RMF.
- Coordinate architecture and delivery across application architects, engineers, data scientists, vendors, and multiple contractors while mentoring technical teams.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance are required.
- 10–14+ years of experience in data architecture, enterprise data engineering, or large-scale modernization.
- Experience designing enterprise data ecosystems, distributed systems, ingestion and ETL/ELT pipelines, real-time processing, metadata, lineage, catalogs, and governance frameworks.
- Experience with system-of-systems integration, APIs, interface management, AI/ML-enabled environments, MLOps, and model deployment.
- Experience with Spark, Kafka, Airflow, Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, Azure, DevSecOps, CI/CD, Terraform, and infrastructure automation.
- Strong understanding of NIST, FedRAMP, Zero Trust, encryption, access controls, ATO support, FinOps, cloud optimization, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
Nice to have
- Certifications in cloud data platforms, big data technologies, or enterprise architecture frameworks.
- Experience with large-scale federal modernization, real-time analytics, event streaming, enterprise AI governance, DataOps, or platform engineering.
